I had a great time, met some wonderful people-and toured quite a few of the resorts in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen.One of the resorts I spent some time in was an adults-only resort called the Valentin Imperial Maya. Now, I have to tell you that this trip was my first time in Cancun, so for the first few hours I was strictly caught up in the clarity of the water and the brightness of the beach. I grew up in California, and Cancun is unlike any beach I have ever seen. So, I went from being amazed by the beach to being stunned by some of the resorts! Some of the resorts in Playa and Cancun are so breathtaking that it doesn’t matter that the lovely beach is just a jaunt down the resort path. Valentin Imperial Maya was one of those resorts. When the shuttle first drives you around the corner you see the "Picture Entrance". This entrance to the resort is walk-up only so that you can get pictures of your arrival in the garden or near the fountain while all the vehicles and bags are being unloaded and filled around the corner. Now, if you are looking for a small resort the Valentin might not be the right fit for your travel needs. The resort is big and the walk to the beach is a bit long, but the walk to the beach is worth it! One of my favorite things on the walk to the pool and beach area was the Multi-Denominational Chapel that the resort uses for wedding ceremonies and such. Everything about this resort was beautiful right down to the food. I really had the sensation of walking through paradise during my stay. One of the things that struck me as being unique about the resort was the restaurant and bar layout. As you are walking down the path toward your room, or to get to the pool, all the restaurants are on the right and all the bars are on the left. Now, while I found the resort unique and gorgeous, there were a few things that could potentially be a negative during your stay… Again, the resort is large. I did find that the further south you get from Cancun the more spread out most of the resorts become, so it isn’t totally unusual that it is large, but it should be noted. Also, the Valentin Imperial Maya is a new resort, so on two occasions I did pass by some continued construction. The construction was inside a restaurant and near a one of the buildings, so it wasn’t that big of a negative-but, I did notice it and I know that other people will too. All in all, it was glorious and I have already started listing different reasons to celebrate and return to the Valentin Imperial Maya!  This adult all inclusive resort has plenty of space Never crowded.  Come enjoy the pool.  You will find a nice variety of restaurants No reservations needed  This jacuzzi separates the bathroom from the main sleeping area.
